Adrenal Fatigue – HPA Axis Dysfunction

Adrenal fatigue has been a popular term for many years to describe a set of symptoms which is becoming increasingly common in our modern lifestyle. These symptoms include:

  • Persistent unexplained fatigue, Waking unrefreshed after good sleep
  • Brain fog Impaired memory, Muscle aches and joint pains
  • Tiring easily after minor exertion,  Decreased capacity to handle stress,
  • Mild depression, Irritability, Low libido, infections

HPA stands for hypothalamic- pituitary-adrenal axis and these three glands work together to regulate the stress response, moods, metabolism, energy production and the immune system.

Infertility Treatment

The rates of infertility have significantly increased in recent years, with a long and varying list of factors contributing to this growing statistic. The inability to conceive, while unsettling, can stem from both males and females, as well as there being ‘unexplained’ infertility in some cases. The more common causes of infertility can be attributed to varying hormonal problems, endometriosis, poor egg and sperm health, physical obstructions, and certain lifestyle choices. While not all infertility is treatable, an increasing number of couples are achieving a healthy pregnancy after following a holistic management health plan.

Leaky Gut Treatment

Leaky gut, or “intestinal permeability,” is a condition in which the lining of the small intestine becomes damaged, causing undigested food particles, waste products, and bacteria to “leak” through the intestines and flood the blood stream. That obviously isn’t good. The foreign substances entering the blood can cause an autoimmune response in the body including inflammatory and allergic reactions such as migraines, irritable bowel, eczema, chronic fatigue, food allergies, rheumatoid arthritis and more.

With leaky gut, damaged cells in your intestines don’t produce the enzymes needed for adequate digestion. As a result, your body cannot absorb essential nutrients, which can lead to hormone imbalances and a weakened immune system.

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy BHRT

Your body’s hormones control most of your basic bodily functions. They coordinate everything from digestion and growth to your appetite, immune function, mood, and libido, while serving as an internal communication system between cells throughout the body. Understandably, when your hormones are out of balance, it can have a significant impact on your health and overall well-being.

Often, when people’s hormones decline or become unstable, they seek medical treatment in the form of hormone replacement therapies to ease their symptoms. One option – bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) – has received a lot of praise in recent time as it’s a more natural form of hormonal replacement therapy.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome PCOS

Polycystic ovary syndrome (or PCOS) is a common hormonal condition. It may cause disruptions to the menstrual cycle, skin and hair changes, as well as cysts on the ovaries. It is one of the leading causes of infertility, yet many women today are unaware that they actually have it, as it estimated that as much as 70% of sufferers go on undiagnosed. Women with PCOS produce high levels of male hormones from their ovaries which obviously affects the menstrual cycle, as well as other parts of their body. Other symptoms include excess hair growth, acne, and weight gain.

Underactive Thyroid Symptoms & Treatment

Some of the more common hormonal disorders experienced today are closely linked with the thyroid gland, which is a key component of the endocrine system. This system is a collection of glands that secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream. Together with both the nervous and the immune system, the endocrine system helps the body cope with different events and stresses.

The thyroid gland is situated at the front of the throat, below the larynx, and is made up of two lobes that lie on either side of the windpipe. If the thyroid gland is overactive or struggles, the metabolism will be affected, leading to a wide range of symptoms that can be easily misdiagnosed.

Migraine Headache Treatment

The infamy of migraines is well known. From the beginning of time, humans have suffered with this painful phenomenon. They can be experienced from as little as once or twice a year, appearing randomly, or as often as two or three times a week with a clear trigger. The pain is severe, throbbing and usually on one side of the head, and a migraine attack can last from four hours to three days. Women suffer more than men from the unpleasantness of migraine, and scientists believe that hormones play a large role.
